Wyldpytch Cloud

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data Wyldpytch Cloud collects, why, and how it is protected on our dedicated server infrastructure.

Effective date: June 11, 2025

1. Overview

Short version: Your files are stored on a dedicated server we rent from a managed hosting provider. We do not sell, share, or monetize your data. You retain full ownership of everything you upload.

Wyldpytch Cloud is a file storage and synchronization service running on Nextcloud software. It is operated by Inadroptech ("we", "us", "our") as a personal cloud infrastructure project, migrated from commercial cloud storage services to a dedicated, self-managed server environment.

This Privacy Policy applies to all users who are granted access to Wyldpytch Cloud. By using the service, you agree to the data practices described in this document.

The Nextcloud software and your data are administered solely by us. However, the underlying server hardware is hosted and managed by a third-party dedicated server provider. This provider supplies the physical infrastructure and network connectivity but does not access, process, or control your data or application.

2. Data We Collect

Account Information

When an account is created for you on Wyldpytch Cloud, the following information is stored:

  • Username and display name
  • Email address (for account notifications and password recovery)
  • Encrypted password hash (we never store your password in plain text)
  • Account creation date and last login timestamp
  • Storage quota and usage statistics

Files and Content

All files, folders, documents, photos, and other content that you upload, create, or sync via Wyldpytch Cloud are stored on our server. This includes:

  • File contents and binary data
  • File metadata: name, size, type, creation and modification timestamps
  • Folder structure and directory hierarchy
  • File version history (if versioning is enabled)
  • Shared link settings if you share files with others

Technical and Log Data

Like all web services, Wyldpytch Cloud automatically records certain technical data when you use the service:

  • IP address of the connecting device
  • Browser type, version, and operating system
  • Date, time, and duration of sessions
  • Actions performed (file uploads, downloads, shares, edits)
  • Error logs and diagnostic information
  • Device identifiers used by sync clients (desktop and mobile apps)

Log data is retained for troubleshooting and security auditing purposes. Logs are not used for behavioral profiling or advertising.

3. How We Use Your Data

Data collected through Wyldpytch Cloud is used exclusively to operate, maintain, and secure the service. Specifically:

  • Service delivery: Storing, syncing, and retrieving your files as you request.
  • Account management: Authenticating your identity, managing your session, and enforcing storage quotas.
  • Security and integrity: Detecting unauthorized access, preventing abuse, and auditing actions in the event of a security incident.
  • Service maintenance: Diagnosing errors, applying updates, and monitoring server health.
  • Notifications: Sending transactional emails such as password reset links or storage quota warnings.

We do not use your data for advertising, behavioral analysis, or any purpose beyond what is necessary to operate the service you requested.

4. Data Storage

All data - including your files and account information - is stored on a dedicated server that we rent from a managed hosting provider. The server is located in a data center facility operated by that provider. We administer the server, the operating system, and all software running on it.

The server runs Nextcloud software on a hardened Linux operating system. Storage is provided by server-attached drives. The hosting provider supplies the physical hardware, network connectivity, and data center infrastructure, but does not have access to the Nextcloud application, your account, or your files.

While the hosting provider does not routinely access the contents of the server, they may have physical access to the underlying hardware as part of their managed infrastructure services. This is a standard condition of dedicated server hosting.

Data is not intentionally replicated to any additional external provider. If off-site backups are ever implemented, they will be encrypted before transmission, and this policy will be updated to name the backup provider.

5. Data Retention

Your files and account data are retained for as long as your account remains active. When an account is deactivated or deleted:

  • Account credentials are removed immediately.
  • Files associated with the account are marked for deletion and purged within 30 days, unless a legal hold is in effect.
  • Deleted files may remain in the Nextcloud trash bin for up to 30 days before permanent removal.
  • Server logs referencing your activity are retained for up to 90 days for security audit purposes, then deleted.

You may request immediate deletion of your data at any time by contacting us (see the Contact section). We will confirm deletion within 14 days of your request.

6. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure:

  • Encryption in transit: All connections to Wyldpytch Cloud are served over HTTPS using TLS 1.2 or higher. Sync clients also use encrypted connections.
  • Password security: Passwords are hashed using a strong one-way algorithm. We never store or have access to your plaintext password.
  • Access control: The server is accessible only through necessary ports. Administrative access is restricted and requires strong authentication.
  • Brute-force protection: Nextcloud's built-in brute-force protection throttles repeated failed login attempts.
  • Two-factor authentication: Users are encouraged to enable two-factor authentication (TOTP) for additional account security.
  • Patch management: The Nextcloud instance and underlying OS are kept up to date with security patches.

No security measure is perfect. In the event of a data breach that is likely to affect your data, we will notify you as soon as reasonably practicable.

7. Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your personal data with third parties, except in the following limited circumstances:

  • Legal requirements: If required by applicable law, court order, or legitimate governmental authority, we may disclose data to comply with such obligations.
  • Protection of rights: We may disclose data where necessary to protect our rights, property, or the safety of users.
  • Files you share: If you use Nextcloud's sharing features to share files with other users or via public links, those recipients will have access to the shared content as you have configured.

Hosting provider: As described in the Data Storage section, the server hardware is provided by a third-party dedicated hosting provider. This provider has access to the physical infrastructure but does not access or process your data at the application level. They act as an infrastructure sub-processor only.

There are no advertising networks, analytics platforms, or data brokers receiving information from this service.

8. Cookies and Sessions

Wyldpytch Cloud uses cookies and browser storage strictly for operational purposes:

  • Session cookies: Used to keep you logged in during a browser session. These expire when you close your browser or log out.
  • Persistent login tokens: If you select "Remember me" on login, a token is stored in your browser for a limited period to allow automatic login.
  • CSRF protection tokens: Used to protect against cross-site request forgery attacks.
  • User preference storage: Nextcloud may store interface preferences (such as view mode or language) in browser local storage.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies. The cookies used are strictly necessary for the service to function.

9. Your Rights

As a user of Wyldpytch Cloud, you have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Access: You can view and download all files and account information associated with your account at any time through the Nextcloud interface.
  • Correction: You can update your account details (name, email, password) directly in the Nextcloud settings panel.
  • Deletion: You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us. We will process deletion requests within 14 days.
  • Data portability: You can export your files at any time through the Nextcloud interface. Files can be downloaded in their original formats with no proprietary lock-in.
  • Restriction: You may request that we restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances. Contact us to discuss your specific situation.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email listed in the Contact section. We do not charge a fee for rights requests and will respond within 30 days.

10. Children's Privacy

Wyldpytch Cloud is not intended for use by individuals under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete that information promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the service, technology, or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this document.

If you have an active account, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you of significant changes. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
